Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

Edgar Degas

Subject overview

Human creativity often reaches its pinnacle in the realms of art, craft, and design. A superior art and design education should stimulate, motivate, and challenge students, providing them with the expertise and abilities to experiment, innovate, and produce their own artistic endeavours. As students advance, they should cultivate a critical mindset and a more in-depth comprehension of art and design. They should also be aware of how art and design both mirror and mould our history and contribute to the cultural richness, inventiveness, and economic prosperity of our nation.
