Subject Overview

Thrive is our personal development curriculum which helps students develop the knowledge and life skills they need to be successful. We aim to prepare young people to be ambitious and thrive whilst they navigate the challenges of adulthood.  The curriculum is based on the statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) guidance for secondary schools. Our curriculum helps students to make informed decisions and become respectful, responsible and resilient members of society.

Thrive covers three key areas: relationships and sex education, health and wellbeing and living in the wider world. Through age-appropriate lessons, students learn how to look after their physical and mental health, build positive relationships, stay safe, manage change and understand their role within the wider community.

For information on withdrawing a student from the non-statutory/non-science components of sex education, please see the school Relationships and Sex Education Policy on our website.
