For me the working of hair is architecture with a human element.

VIDAL SASSOON

Subject overview

Hairdressing is delivered within our purpose-built salon, which allows our students to experience, first hand, the techniques and procedures used within the industry.
We offer both Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications from City and Guilds which offer progression opportunities for our students. The qualifications are graded based on a portfolio of evidence of practical work as well as online exams.

SIXTH FORM

Hairdressing is a truly global job and as long as a hairdresser has their scissors and comb, they can pretty much work anywhere. Even in tough economic times, people will still need to get their haircut. Hairdressing is routinely voted as one of the happiest jobs in the world, winning votes for job satisfaction and creativity. There is no such thing as 9-5 in the hairdressing industry, and it is safe to say that no day is the same. Each client in the chair presents a new challenge with his or her own unique requests and results.

The City and Guilds  NVQ level 2 and 3 Diploma in Hairdressing is the industry standard qualification. Students gain all manner of transferable skills, from customer service to time management and balancing finances, which complement the practical technical skills. Once qualified the training continues, as education is essential at every stage of a hairdresser’s career and it's one industry where your employees are willing to invest in your growth.
